Lourdes Chavarria

Lourdes Chavarria is a highly experienced paralegal with over 15 years of expertise working alongside Kate McDonough. She attended the University of Maryland from 1996 to 1999, earning a degree in Government and Politics with a minor in Latin American Studies. During her time there, she served as Vice President of the Latino Student Union. She later earned a Master’s in Legal Studies with a concentration in Family Law in December 2023.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, Lourdes was recognized as an eligible interpreter for the Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts, a prestigious and highly selective position. She is also a commissioned notary. 

Beyond her legal career, Lourdes is deeply committed to community service. She previously volunteered with the Montgomery County Literacy Council, helping immigrants prepare for the U.S. naturalization exam and learn essential English phrases. She also tutored students through Montgomery County programs, supporting their educational growth.

A passionate traveler, Lourdes has explored more than 12 countries. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and discovering new destinations around the world.
